This week brought a powerful step forward for transgender young people across the country. A federal judge has struck down the Kennedy Declaration—the policy that threatened to cut off Medicare and Medicaid funding from any hospital providing gender‑affirming care for trans youth. The ruling applies nationwide and immediately removes the federal pressure that led dozens of hospitals to shut down their programs earlier this year.
As we head into Big Day of Giving on May 7, your support fuels the Sacramento LGBT Community Center’s work to protect and uplift LGBTQ+ youth right here at home. From mental health services and housing support to advocacy and community programs, your gift helps ensure that every young person has access to safety, affirmation, and care.

It's Lesbian Visibility Week! Our lesbian community has been a huge pillar in advocacy and community and this week is one where we shine the light on their incredible contributions. From stepping in to nurse AIDS patients in the 80's, to leading us in the Sac Pride March, they have stood up for community and model how to live with Pride 🧡 🤍 🩷

It's Global Volunteer Month! Which is a perfect time to be kicking off our Pride Volunteer recruitment! Did you know it takes 1,000 volunteers to pull off a seamless Pride March and Festival? Our volunteer committee has already begun planning all the moving pieces that go in to making Pride a celebration we think about all year!
