Events: A Whole Month of Sacramento Pride!

Official Pride Month Event Schedule

Proceeds from Official Pride Month events support the programs and services of the Sacramento Gay & Lesbian Center.
For the past few years, Sacramento Pride has featured a series of Pride Week events—opportunities for local businesses and community organizations to spotlight their venues, products or services while showing their LGBT Pride and supporting the services of the Sacramento Gay & Lesbian Center.

Last year, there were so many Pride Week events that we ran out of days in the week! So for 2010, we’re presenting Sacramento Pride Month—an entire month of fabulous parties, workshops, art shows, open houses and more…!

Friday, June 11

Outword Happy Hour

5pm – 7pm

The Depot – 2001 K Street, Sacramento

Come join the party as Outword celebrates – Happy Hour!  Outword will put up the balloons and have some prizes and treats, and the Depot will have some pretty awesome drink specials.  To sweeten the deal, Outword and volunteers from the Sacramento Gay & Lesbian Center will be selling raffle tickets for some great gifts.

Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus – Unity

8pm – 10pm

First United Methodist Church – 2100 J St., Sacramento

An Evening of Music and Dance.  The Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus  is holding their annual Pride Concert, with special guests  the Sacramento Woman’s Chorus, Small Difference Woman’s Choral Ensemble, Verve, Sacramento Dance Sport and the Capital City Squares.  $16 at the door or $14 in advance at the Gifted Gardner located at 1730 J Street.  For more information, visit SacGayMensChorus.org

Beer, Wine & Cheese Tasting with Taylor’s

2nd Annual Outword Night at Rivercats

Raley Field – 400 Ballpark Dr., West Sacramento

Dinger and the Rivercats have set aside a special section just for us, so come and enjoy a game at one of the most beautiful minor league parks in the country.  We’ll start out with a reception at Il Fornaio (400 Capitol Mall, Sacramento) at 5pm and then head over to the ball game at around 6:30pm for a game time of around 7:05pm.  $15  Tickets must be purchased in advance at OutwordMagazine.com.  Info: 916-329-9280

Dyke Night

West Steps of State Capitol

A special celebration of lesbian pride, with live entertainment, dancing, laughter and all-around good times for Dykes and Honorary Dykes alike.  Open to all ages, orientations, and identities.  Free admission!

Saturday, June 19

Sacramento Pride Festival and Parade

10am – 5pm

Capitol Mall between 3rd and 7th Streets, Sacramento

No more waiting, time to party!

The parade starts at 10am.  Come on out and watch or join in with your favorite group. This year’s parade starts at Southside Park and goes gayly forward down 7th Street to the Festival Grounds at Capitol Mall.

The Festival also opens at 10am and runs until 5pm.  There will be three stages, offering live entertainment and DJ Dancing, the Amtrak Dance Pavilion, hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of prideful Sacramentans and visitors.  For the first time, beer and wine can be enjoyed throughout the Festival (except the Kids Zone).  $10  Tickets available at the gate.  All proceeds help fund the programs and services of the Sacramento Gay & Lesbian Center.

Post Pride BBQ
