Parade: New Route in 2010!
We are so excited about the Sacramento Pride Parade this year! We have 34 wonderful contingents so far, with more on the way. We have five floats and a dancing contingent, all with more energy than ever!
Some of this year’s highlights include TWO(!) women’s motorcycle contingents starting and ending the Parade. We have several faith-based groups with hundreds of marchers. Our Grand Marshall is the Speaker of the California State Assembly, the Honorable John Perez, the first gay Speaker in the history of California!
Joining us for the first time are big-time supporter Jackson Rancheria, Miss Sacramento, Miss Latina 2010 “Isabela,” Equality Action NOW, and the colorful Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Of course all of our star headliners will be joining the fun. You’ll see special guests Bebe Zahara Benet, Kaylah Marin, Joel Evan, and the favorite U-Haul lesbians (decked out in a real U-Haul!) That’s What She Said! –up close and personal before they take the Festival stage.
Come join the fun on our brand-new Parade Route. We’ll be starting at 7th and T streets, and marching up to our new digs at Capitol Mall, with more room, more refreshments, more stages, more exhibitors, and more FUN! Sit or stand anywhere along 7th street between Capitol and S to cheer on your favorite contingents. You can even support Sacramento Pride sponsor Regional Transit and take Light Rail (which goes directly to the Parade Route) to save on parking costs.
See you Saturday at 10:00 a.m.! Show your Pride.
